Are you a little like me and dying to learn more about horror from an academic viewpoint? Well the Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies, run by Josh Saco, is back for another series of incredible lectures from some of the most esteemed academics in horror.
Critic and co-founder of Midnight Eye.com, Jaspar Sharp, will be delivering a talk on the sensual word of ero guro nansensu also known in English as “erotic grotesque nonsense”. He will be exploring the concepts of this genre, the influence it had, how it fell victim to censorship and what this looks like in film with a focus on particular titles including the work of Ishii Teruo (Shogun’s Joys of Torture; Horrors of Malformed Men).
If you’re interested in this erotic evening of strangeness, the details to join the event are below – I hope to see you there!
