Sometimes there are films that just from the title alone give you a sense of what you’re about to witness. The short horror comedy film Swedish Horse Movie comes from Patrik Brander and Yngve Stigberg, and really gives the audience a hoofing good time which is also mentally disturbing.
The audience follows one man (Emil Levin) as he tries to provide for his wife (Eliza Sica), and the horse (Kristoffer) they are looking after. There’s no reference as to why the horse is being looking after, but it seems there is a clear struggle between the married couple. He returns one day from work to find his wife riding the jock’s rather intruding member and decides to take matters into his own hands. You can only imagine the ways in which the husband exacts revenge on the horse that destroyed his wife, and of course it involves some bloody body mutilation.
Swedish Horse Movie is like BoJack Horseman an LSD induced nightmare with a sprinkling of meth on top. It’s everything you would expect from a film about a man catching his wife cheating on him with the horse they are caring for… It’s hilarious yet horrific in many ways and makes you wonder about how you would react if you found your other half fucking a horse. If you like strange art-house films then you’re going to love this. You can purchase and watch the film here.
