An Introduction to CAT III Films

Have you ever heard of CAT III horror films? Even if you have, you might not be entirely sure what this sub-genre of horror is and what films are included. This rating system originates from Hong Kong but has started to become more inclusive of other films that feature extreme violence, sex and disturbing content. Even with that in mind there is a specific style and guideline that defines what films can really be classified as CAT III, and how they have helped to influence extreme horror films from other regions and countries outside of Hong Kong.
